Ever since we first wore a "salopette", we've been fans of the extra comfort and protection that it provides vs. a standard chest-high bib pant. Problem with a salopette is that the length is the length, and if it doesn’t fit you, there's nothing you can do about it. Problem solved.
AWG Typhoon 3-Layer: Fully waterproof, fully breathable and fully windproof 3-layer laminate with a 7 oz. nylon face and taped seams. Tricot inner layer protects the waterproof membrane from the inside while delivering a dry next-to-skin feel. 80/20 DWR coating keeps moisture from permeating the outer shell.
• Waterproof Rating: 20,000 MM
• Breathability Rating: 10,000 g/sq. m/24 hours
Designed for versatility to cover a broad range of applications and conditions from inshore dinghy racing to offshore big boat sailing, the Aegis range includes every innovative bell and whistle we could think of (except for actual bells and whistles). Best in cooler conditions because, while there is no insulation and the fabric is highly breathable, it is designed with protection in mind. For cold weather sailing, add mid-layers (Zephyr, Flying Point Fleece) to achieve warmth without weight.
• Spray Top: Laser sailing to inshore big boat sailing
• Jacket: Inshore one-design keelboats to offshore distance sailing
• Ocean Smock: Inshore one-design keelboats to offshore distance sailing (front end of the rail)
• Hybrid Bib: Inshore dinghy sailing to offshore distance sailing

Working offshore on 8m fastboats was pure hell until I purchased these bibs. I spent a fair amount of time researching product and am very happy with my Aegis bibs. My last 3 months on the rhibs were wet winter months, layered with fleece I was warm and dry!

I really like my Atlantis Bibs and would like to see Atlantis make a set of these in their Microburst material, for warmer weather sailing these are a little heavy and the microburst fabric is great for warmer weather conditions. The microburstpants are good but fall down without shoulder straps..

I really like these bibs but at the same time I'm disappointed. I have a long torso and the adjustable shoulder straps are too short so when I'm working they are stretched tight and the crotch of the bibs rides too high. This is very uncomfortable with two or three layers under them.

The Aegis Hybrid Bib evinces superior waterproofness in everything from the technical construction of zippers, to the stretchiness of the rubber ankle seals, and to the overall height of the bib itself. The two external pockets make up for the lack of interior pockets in the Ocean Smock, and are large enough to store a radio communication unit.
It's unfortunate that only flashy, nouveau, and nontraditional colors are offered; would have preferred solid black.

I was skeptical about the Aegis Bib at first. It was a warm spring day and i was expecting to sweat inside the bib but no, it was amazingly breathable. While sailing on 420's I filled the boat with water up to the centerboard slit with water up to my knees. Not a drop of water was inside the suit. I am blown away by the functionality and performance of the
Aegis Bib. The Customer service at Atlantis was unbelievable. Always responds to emails and phone calls and if there happens to be a snafu, I am the first to know. Thanks Atlantis!

I haven't used the gear yet in our challenging/windy conditinos on SF Bay. A quick evaluation Shows a nice waterproof zipper, decent adjustments at the shoulder straps, the leg closures look good. I would prefer a bigger pocket as I keep a small bottle of water in the pocket, sometimes gloves and race instructions. I'll still be interested in the abrasion patches as they feel like they are of lighter weight than that on my other gear. I look forward to testing this gear on everthing from my Wabbit to big boats.

I bought these when my old ones started leaking on the seam again. Different co. I like not having a liner since it is easier to get on and off. Wore them to Bermuda last summer and a lot of other racing. Comfortable and still staying dry. Hopefully they will last longer then some of the others I have had.
