Ever since we first wore a "salopette", we've been fans of the extra comfort and protection that it provides vs. a standard chest-high bib pant. Problem with a salopette is that the length is the length, and if it doesn’t fit you, there's nothing you can do about it. Problem solved.
Aegis: Designed for versatility to cover a broad range of applications and conditions from inshore dinghy racing to offshore big boat sailing, the Aegis range includes every innovative bell and whistle we could think of (except for actual bells and whistles). Best in cooler conditions because, while there is no insulation and the fabric is highly breathable, it is designed with protection in mind. For cold weather sailing, add mid-layers (Zephyr, Flying Point Fleece) to achieve warmth without weight.
Examples

I was skeptical about the Aegis Bib at first. It was a warm spring day and i was expecting to sweat inside the bib but no, it was amazingly breathable. While sailing on 420's I filled the boat with water up to the centerboard slit with water up to my knees. Not a drop of water was inside the suit. I am blown away by the functionality and performance of the
Aegis Bib. The Customer service at Atlantis was unbelievable. Always responds to emails and phone calls and if there happens to be a snafu, I am the first to know. Thanks Atlantis!

I haven't used the gear yet in our challenging/windy conditinos on SF Bay. A quick evaluation Shows a nice waterproof zipper, decent adjustments at the shoulder straps, the leg closures look good. I would prefer a bigger pocket as I keep a small bottle of water in the pocket, sometimes gloves and race instructions. I'll still be interested in the abrasion patches as they feel like they are of lighter weight than that on my other gear. I look forward to testing this gear on everthing from my Wabbit to big boats.

I bought these when my old ones started leaking on the seam again. Different co. I like not having a liner since it is easier to get on and off. Wore them to Bermuda last summer and a lot of other racing. Comfortable and still staying dry. Hopefully they will last longer then some of the others I have had.
